Awarded by Straits Constructions for a total of 25 units of various cranes for their newly Integrated Construction and Prefabrication Hub (ICPH)
Jenmon was awarded by Straits Construction to supply and install a total of 25 units of cranes. This consisted of Gantry Cranes, Electric Overhead Travelling Cranes and Jib Cranes for their newly Integrated Construction and Prefabrication Hub (ICPH) at Kakit Bukit.
This was one the key initiatives that the government introduced to improve the productivity of the construction industry: by adopting highly productive technology and automation. Once it is completed in 2016, the plant will have an annual production capacity of more than 60,000m^3 of precast components, much more than what a conventional precast yard can produce with the same amount of factory space.
Despite the lack of space available for installation, as well as a need for a maximum hook height, Jenmon's team overcame the various challenges and successfully installed the cranes on site. Not only did Jenmon meet the requirements of the technical specifications of the cranes, we also demonstrated a well-planned and coordinated partnership with our customer.
Awarded by PSA for 15 units of Electric Overhead Travelling Cranes for their new PPT 5 workshop
Flagship Terminal – PSA Singapore is the flagship terminal of PSA International, one of the leading global port groups, with port projects spanning across Asia, Europe and America. In Singapore, PSA operates a total of 60 berths with a handling capacity of 40 million TEUs yearly at its container terminals in Tanjong Pagar, Keppel, Brani and Pasir Panjang.
Prior to this order, Jenmon had supplied, installed and commissioned Electric Overhead Travelling Cranes for Pasir Panjang Terminal 2 in 2011. It was thus an honour to be awarded once again by PSA. We supplied and installed a total of 15 units of Electric Overhead Travelling Cranes for their new workshop in Pasir Panjang Terminal 5.
After the installation, Jenmon provided maintenance services for the cranes, so as to improve the cranes' productivity and ensure smooth operation throughout. Our qualified crane technicians also conducted a safety training service to offer technical assistance, such as the basic techniques for maintenance of hoists.
After completing the course, we pleasantly issued authorised training certificates to the trainees. Jenmon is proud to support PSA'S ongoing expansion plans for Pasir Panjang Terminal 5.
Awarded by Shimizu for 4 units of Gantry Cranes for Land Transport Authority (LTA) – Thomson-East Coast Line (TEL) – T207 project
Shimizu appointed Jenmon to supply and install 4 units of High Lifting Speed Engineered Gantry Cranes with closed loop PLC and invertor controls for the construction of Thomson-East Coast Line tunnels – T207 project, which is designated to run from Seletar Expressway/Woodlands Avenue 12 to Springleaf station.
With a history of numerous experiences in LTA projects, Jenmon had the honour of providing Gantry Cranes for their OP1, OP2, ES1 and ES2 sites. In order to meet our customer's requirement while considering the safety procedure, Jenmon offered a comprehensive solution to Shimizu, leading to a complete and successful operation.
Training services were conducted, providing our customer with general safety and basic knowledge on the operation of cranes. By having a detailed and reliable training programme, this service was tailored to meet our customer's specific needs.
Awarded by Gammon Construction for 2 units of 40 ton Gantry Cranes for Land Transport Authority (LTA) – Singapore MRT Limited (SMRT) / Track Sleeper's Replacement project
Many have come across the gigantic Gantry Cranes standing in the midst of the trail along East-West Line (EWL) between Chinese Garden and Lakeside stations, and North-South Line (NSL) at Pasir Ris station. These 2 Jenmon fixed Gantry Cranes were deployed to speed up the works along the tracks, including the replacement of rail sleepers.
As this project is the first of its kind in Singapore, it is considered quite new. It was awarded to Gammon Construction Pte Ltd, which is a subsidiary company of Gammon. This firm mainly contributes to Singapore's infrastructure, including the completion of many contracts for Land Transport Authority (LTA), as well as several major projects in the commercial and petrochemical sectors.
Jenmon had been appointed by the Main Contractor, Gammon Construction, to install 2 units of Fixed Gantry Cranes for the replacement of sleepers. These 2 cranes were installed with various safety devices, which were used to hoist the Road Rail Vehicles (RRV) lifting system and Concrete sleepers for the replacement of the current wooden sleepers. By deploying a more effective solution to the work front, more sleepers were able to be replaced. Contrariwise, using conventional mobile cranes and long set up time would be costly and impossible.
Prior to the selection of the Fixed Gantry Cranes, Jenmon's team brainstormed various design options with our customer. We were aware of our customer's needs and constraints, such as the short working duration of 3 hours in the early mornings so as to not disrupt the train operation during the day. Jenmon's Fixed Gantry Cranes then came to fruition.
Made of steel structure, Jenmon's Fixed Gantry Cranes were able to accelerate works, ensuring the stability and durability compared to other large and heavy machines, such as mobile cranes. Specifically, a gantry crane is a great alternative to a mobile crane. A gantry crane has a lifting capacity of up to 15 ton. Furthermore, to hoist the RRV lifting system, the 2 legs of the Gantry Cranes ensure balance and stability in enduring heavy loads.
We believe that this project is a true testament to our value of delivering safe and quality equipment. It is reflected in our daily operational checklist, weekly and monthly maintenance, as well as every 6-monthly load test and inspection. Jenmon's crane specialists are diligent and professional when proceeding with their daily safety operations. Together with the customer's safety personnel, we checked to prevent and/or stop any possible safety breach. This puts a premium on "Safety".
More than 92,000 of timber sleepers were changed, with the rest to be changed in the early part of 2017.
The Gantry Cranes at East-West Line (EWL) between Chinese Garden and Lakeside stations were rounded off on 27th October 2016 and the Gantry Crane at North-South Line (NSL) at Pasir Ris station was dismantled in January 2017.
Awarded by Kimberly-Clark (Singapore) Finance for 3 units of 60kg Jib Cranes and 1 unit of Electric Overhead Travelling Crane for their clean room workshop at Tuas
It is essential to choose suitable and appropriate cranes to maintain the clean room workplace. Kimberly-Clark is one of renowned personal care companies. Located in Tuas, Kimberly-Clark mainly manufactures a range of sanitary products such as diapers, tissues, skincare and sanitizers from global brands including Kimtech, Kimcare and Kleenex.
After numerous brainstorming sessions and design proposals, Jenmon was awarded by Kimberly-Clark to install 3 units of Clean Room Jib Cranes with slew trolley and roll filter for the feeding station in a clean room environment.
These Jib Cranes were also specially designed to cover the small working area, to operate and provide maintenance in the well-organised clean room workshop.
Therefore, in spite of the space constraint, Jenmon's crane operated smoothly, supporting the "Occupational safety and hygiene" policy of our customer.
